The Sunday after Easter, we will celebrate the Feast of Divine Mercy at 3 p.m. on April 16, 2023 at Christ the King Church - 7436 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Glen Burnie, MD 21061.

The great Feast of God’s Divine Mercy will be celebrated as proclaimed by Pope St. John Paul II in April of the year 2000.

We will offer confessions from 2:00-3:00 pm.

The service at 3:00 will include:

  • Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament

  • Recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet with candles

  • Veneration of the image and distribution of roses

  • Adoration with praise and worship songs

  • Intercessory prayer petitions

  • Procession with the Blessed Sacrament

  • Benediction

  • Featuring wonderful contemporary musicians Evan Crane and Erin Cunningham

We will have food and fellowship at Christ the King's hall immediately following

In these troubled times, the Divine Mercy is one of the greatest gifts God has given to the Church and world which is why it is celebrated within the Octave of Easter.

In her Diary, St. Maria Faustina Kowalska recorded 14 revelations from our Lord requesting this feast. The most complete, concise description is found in entry 699:

"I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and a shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners . ... The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment."

To receive the extraordinary graces of this feast, the only condition is to receive Holy Communion worthily on Divine Mercy Sunday (or the vigil celebration) by making a good Confession beforehand and staying in the state of grace, and receive with great trust in Divine Mercy. We also are encouraged to venerate the Divine Mercy Image and perform acts of mercy through deed, word, or prayer.
