Reverend Mother Mary Agatha is the founder of the Missionary Daughters of Mater Ecclesiae (MDME), whose mission is the promotion of the Catholic faith and humanitarian services among abandoned and challenged children. The MDME sisters receive formation to love and care for children with special needs living in the Catholic Charity Home for the Needy and those at Emeka's House Orphanage.

Sr. Maria is a graduate major of the English language from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka Nigeria. As an educationist, she has established and managed many schools in various African countries. She established and presently manages Mater Ecclesiae Splendid Nursery and Basic School in Abakaliki ,Ebonyi State.
